When little girls are told they are princesses,
Do they all grow up to be queens?
Once upon a time
My sweetheart,
The tea blossom opens
In a dainty cup;
It moves and grows as if it’s
Alive
Hold it tight
In hands with,
Too much time for perfect nails.
I won’t forget
Haven’t ever forgotten
To love you,
Not without a
Your kiss, one moment more…
Count the steps
Into your soul,
When lost
Along the way.
Take a peek
Come around that winding corner—
Cat eyes may
Deceive you,
Shielded eyes
Covered lies.
Say it enough
Stop to smell the roses
Slather on a drop of lip gloss
Hurry,
We’re almost out of…

Tea Grow Gif from Giphy
This was profound. Great Gif for the poetry, too.
Appreciate the “slather on a drop of lip gloss” because I am one who will not walk out of the house if my lady isn’t wearing earrings and her lips adorned with gloss or lipstick.
Guess that is why I am the Lonely Author.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Good afternoon,
Very kind of you to say that. Thank you! It seems to work better than a static image of the tea blossom.
I hope she’s wearing a little more than earrings and some gloss to leave the house! LOL
Wishing you a super great weekend too, Mr. Lonely Author.
LOL . Thank you very much. Happy Sunday to you.
Thanks Andrew. Have a good week! Looking forward to reading tomorrow’s post.
Smiling. Hope you have a great week as well.
We will see how tomorrow’s post will fare.
I have my doubts. Thanks
Why do you have doubts? Here I thought I was the only one who got cold feet before posting. Without a doubt, it will be fabulous!
Good poem and imagery.
Glad you like it 🙂 Thank you for reading!
No, thank YOU for sharing. I write poetry but rarely share it. It’s too personal. So I respect you a lot.
Wow! What a sweet thing for you to say. Thank you so much. Some are definitely harder to share than others. I feel like everyone interprets the poems differently which seems to make it a little less personal. You should give it a try, I would love to read some of your poems!
You’ve made me think about that first kiss from the first girl who took an interest in me. In fact I never really stopped loving any of the former girlfriends.
You have a big heart Lloyd 🙂 Thank you for your comment. I’m happy the poem brought back a positive memory.
With your way of presentation, there is no way you as a princess are a Queen. We as men should perceive all Women as Queens. Put your Crown back on the top of your head. Love you.
I feel very undeserving of this love but am grateful nonetheless. These kind and uplifting words came when they were much needed. Thank you!
You are Welcome. And True.
