An assortment of outfits
Hang neatly
In her closet
Now
As she’s fading
We’re faced with the importance
Of only
A single one
Long ago
She had attached the label:
For the Journey
How did she choose
The last
Thing to wear?
Could be in her favourite colour
Some symbol
Of a joyous occasion…
Soon
He will come for her
To dance
The one
Who danced with her
Before
My grandpa is waiting
She will wear the outfit
When we say goodbye
He will say
“Hello,
Again”
When we say goodbye
He will have her
In his arms,
Once
More.
